Parts Panel — B2B Auto Parts Wholesale
A B2B wholesale auto parts marketplace — built to digitize purchasing for recyclers, dealers, and auto shops via an advanced Year/Make/Model engine.
Problem
Aftermarket auto parts buyers were entirely reliant on manual phone orders because existing B2B platforms lacked the specific search UX required by the industry. The challenge: professionals search by Year/Make/Model first. A platform was needed to map complex automotive taxonomy to a Shopify wholesale backend.
Architecture & Solution

Built on Shopify, the platform integrates a specialized B2B Wholesale App layer. A custom search architecture processes Year/Make/Model queries, mapping them against an extensive taxonomy of 30+ manufacturer brands and thousands of SKUs.
Implementation Decisions
- Industry-standard search UX — Placing the Year/Make/Model selector as the primary interaction directly matches the mental model of professional parts buyers.
- Tiered wholesale access — Teasing the B2B pricing portal at the hero level incentivizes account creation and captures high-volume dealer interest.
- Visual inventory validation — Displaying 30+ manufacturer logos in a structured grid instantly communicates the breadth of inventory to wholesale buyers.
