Problem

B2B merchants with external PO systems needed a bridge between Shopify orders and accounting systems. Manual PO tracking was creating reconciliation errors.

Implementation Decisions

  1. Bidirectional PO → order sync prevents data drift
  2. Immutable audit trail for compliance and dispute resolution
  3. Webhook-driven updates keep systems in sync in real-time
