Scholarship MCP Server
An AI-native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server—designed to expose structured academic databases directly to enterprise LLMs for real-time querying.
Problem
Users needed programmatic, conversational access to vast academic databases via AI assistants. The challenge: LLMs couldn't natively query this real-time data without relying on slow, brittle web scraping during the chat session. A secure, protocol-level integration was required to bridge the gap.
Architecture & Solution

The Node.js backend implements the official Model Context Protocol. It utilizes rapid API clients and robust HTML parsing to extract data across varied provider formats. Strict schema validation is employed before securely injecting the context into the LLM's context window.
Implementation Decisions
- Native MCP integration — Building on the Model Context Protocol allows enterprise AI assistants to securely and autonomously invoke real-time data searches.
- Robust HTML parsing — Normalizing erratic, unstructured HTML from various providers into clean, structured JSON ensures reliable LLM context.
- Strict schema enforcement — Schema validation guarantees the LLM receives perfectly structured data, virtually eliminating hallucination caused by malformed context.
