A custom healthcare learning management system — built to deploy domain-specific training workflows across remote medical and dental staffing cohorts.
Problem
Uplift Technologies rapidly deploys remote healthcare staff to MSO and DSO groups across North America. The challenge: each new hire required rigorous, domain-specific training in HIPAA compliance, front-office protocols, and medical billing. Off-the-shelf LMS platforms lacked healthcare-specific architecture and enforced per-seat licensing models that eroded margins at scale.
Architecture & Solution
The platform integrates a React/Vite frontend with a FastAPI and PostgreSQL backend. It utilizes Supabase for seamless auth and enrollment state, allowing staff to use identical credentials across the main HR platform and the LMS. AI-driven lesson planning is powered by cloud-deployed Mistral Instruct and Deepseek OCR, dynamically structuring coursework based on uploaded clinical documentation.
Implementation Decisions
- Taxonomy-driven catalog — A multi-track curriculum system with deep field taxonomy enables staff to filter courses by department and seniority without relying on complex search indexes.
- Unified Auth Layer — Leveraging the existing Supabase authentication ecosystem eliminated credential fragmentation and reduced onboarding friction for remote hires.
- AI-assisted course generation — Automating lesson planning via Mistral and Deepseek OCR drastically reduced the time required for subject matter experts to design new curriculum modules.
